About your audio, try this, go to system preferences, then audio, select input tab and change your input.
The EFI string worked like a charm, thanks! There's no input devices when I go to the input tab, though.

Ok, the EFI thing was working, but ever since this morning the fan's still staying on whenever I shutdown. The boot.plist still has the modded strings.

lost the audio.
i have two sata DVD drives. only one is detected.
mouse stuck on upper left unless i boot win7 first
hdmi port (is there a fix for this?)

the rest works like magic. even the wireless is working so is the bluetooth.

God, this is really pissing me off. I even tried reinstalling and it's still not working. I need to fix this, otherwise the electric bill's gonna be expensive.

I'll try to be more specific, according to the verbose prompt, the CPU's shutting down fine and my screen blacks out, like it would if it were off. However, I can still hear the fan moving and the PC tower's remains on. What can I do about this?

Okay, I just realized that this started happening when I upgraded to 10.5.8. My nVidia 8500GT 512mb graphics card also isn't supporting quartz extreme.

First of all, a huge thank you to icchansan. This tutorial is what got me into the world of hackintosh. Also a thank you to the folks that keep on posting their issues in here. It's a huge help to idiots like me who run into the same problems.

System Specs:
iatkos v7 (Updated to 10.5.8)
HP a6544f (sort of) - Basically a Pavillion Elite without the 8600GT or wireless
ASUS IPIBL-LB running the 5.23 BIOS Mod
Core2 Quad Q6600
8GB DDR2 (800mHz)
1x 150GB WD Raptor - Mac OS
1x 640GB WD - Vista, Windows 7, and Ubuntu
1x 1.5TB WD - Storage
BFG Tech GeForce GTX260 - Full 3D support as well as Dual DVI
SB X-Fi Gamer - Still doesn't work.
Onboard ALC888S - Works except SPDIF
Onboard Realtek LAN - Works

As it stands now, I'm running a quad boot with Vista x64, Windows 7 x64, Ubuntu 9.04 x64, and OS X 10.5.8 (iatkos v7). I'm headed to bed here pretty quick, but after I can gather up all my links and notes, I'm going to post a tutorial on how I did it. I figure it's about time I gave something back to the community I've been lurking around for so long.

I'll post it up in the tutorials section tomorrow afternoon and drop a link to it in this post.

I was hoping that someone might be able to give me a hand.
I have a HP elite M9150f
I have a Iatkos v7
I have now tried installing OSX about 12 ties and i get to the grey mac screen and it wont let me go past there. I have tried -v, -s, -f, -cpus=1, -cpus=2 all with no response. When i tried it on my laptop which didnt work either it got to the grey mac screen and then i could slide the power button and it would go allthe way to a apple keyboard error and freeze up but when i try to press the power button on my desktop it just shuts it off right away.
I have
Intel core 2 quad q6600
MMX, SSE, SSE2, SSSE3, EM64T
Motherboard
ASUSTeK Benicia
chipset intel p35/g33/g31
Southbridge intel 82801R (ICH9R)
Lpcio Fintek F8000
Bios
American Megatrends Inc.
Version 5.15
date 12/31/2007
Graphics card
NVIDIA GeForce 8500GT

I am trying to install it onto a seagate freeagent go P/N 9nn2a3-500 because my computers hard drives are in raid configuration with windows vista, windows 7, and ubuntu.

Any advice or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

Don't use the cpu's flag with the dash (-); Instead try just using "cpus=1" instead. If you have more than 2gb of ram, also try the "maxmem=2048" flag as well and see if that helps.

It could also be crashed due to the raid that you have setup (even though you are not booting from it, OSX may detect it if it's still connected to your computer)
