Thanks to your help icchansan, I was able to get OSX up and running!

I have audio enabled and my display is working fine. However, I'm still having trouble getting the LAN to work (Realtek 8111C), I downloaded the file from your original post, but have not been able to figure out how to install it. I did try installing the kext from "/RealtekR1000/Build/Release" using KextUtility, but that did not seem to fix the problem, I'm still getting a "Cable Unplugged" status.

Any ideas on this?

**Edit**
I went ahead and reinstalled using iATKOS and this time I selected "R1000" under Wired Network for configuration options, still not showing any kind of connection, I am positive the network is functional as I have several other PCs connected.

**Edit #2**
It's working now! Not sure why, but after I changed the port of my Xbox360 on the hub, it made the PC connect. Weird.
Hehe, good to hear that joseb did you add efi strings to your network? can you post if you have full sleep/restart/shutdown?

Not sure what you mean by EFI strings (sorry, still very new to the Hack/Mac scene) but when I reinstalled from scratch, I selected R1000 from the Network > Wired > Realtek selection and it worked from there.

As far as sleep / restart / shutdown go, restart and shutdown work like a charm, sleep however seems to hang the system, I did download the kexts from your original post, and applied them using the Kext Utility, then ran "repair disk permissions" in Disk Utility, but that did not see to help.

I just reconnected my second HDD and 15-card reader to test those out.

Thanks again for all the help!

icchansan-
I'm sorry but I don't exactly understand your directions. I'm not sure where I should be entering "cpus=1 -v -x". If you could just clarify that slightly that'd be great.
Thanks again!
Brendan

Do you have a distro for OSX right? change your settings in your BIOS like my screenshots in the 1st page (hey dont MOD your BIOS) just a couple changes on your BIOS, then boot into your DVD, wait for darwin and press F8, then type:

Quote:
cpus=1 -v -x
after that you should be able to boot into OSX Installation, follow my guide to know how to format and get an idea how to customize, after installation read Post #369 here, to know how to get your cores working.

Or go to tutorials, theres a guide to know to install Retail for HP Pavilions, hope it helps

Well I did like you noted, I went to System Pref...Energy...Options Tab and selected everything available (only 2 options, and 1 was already checked), and tried:

Sleep, it did not seem to work, it shut down the HDDs but left the fans running and i was not able to 'wake' it up.

Reboot worked OK though.
