If you can still get into windows, then go to hp website and download the bios update file (what ever version is the current). Run it under windows, (making sure you have no power interuption) then you will be back to the HP BIOS. I have done that over an modified BIOS and it worked. So you don't really need the "original" BIOS of your motherboard.

For the fan, is it an orginal installed fan with PWM control (4pin connector)? I had once tried to install an regular 3pin CPU fan into the 4pin connector of the mobo and it gave me error message.

I did everything i could, and I have no idea how to get into my bios. People tell me its F1 yet, that command does not work at all. I listed my bios in the last post didnt i? since F1 doesnt work is there a program like cpuz or something that will tell me?

I did that, but its giving my computer the fan error, but the fan is working i feel the air off of it in the back. um and the hp blue screen that shows when the bios is running... stays on for like .5 seconds which it use to stay on a little longer... and it go's back to that error system fan failed stuffs.

Windows Vista Home Primium is my OS.
I used Bios 5.17 first, then tried it with 5.23 (my current bios at this moment)
Both gave me same error.

i cant take a screen of but i can write out my error.

Error: System Fan Has Failed! Service PC to prevent damage to the system.
press <F2> to continue.

The fan does work and vista loads just fine, but i need a back up copy of the bios.

Yikes 1st time I read about this, I'm pretty sure that you did something wrong or something in your system screw the BIOS MOD, but surely you can fix it without problem.

You can try this:

1- Try once again the BIOS MOD in DOS with Afudos (if you dont know how to it, please ask)
2- Install the latest BIOS from HP
3- Try to MOD from XP live
4- Contact HP and tell them about your issue without the truth? that you tried to update and bam!
