Default Thanks OP!!

My first post on the forum, Just want to say thank you OP for this excellent tutorial and I am now a happy Hachintosher (very likely will get a legit copy of Mac soon as I am rather impressed by how smooth the OS is).

Now just so it might help other owner of HP m9250f, I used iAtkos 7 DVD (10.5.7, bt download). Basically what I did:
1. Flash the 5.17 Mod flash. (didn't try without it but I guess it's a must? At least it doesn't do any harm).
2. Set BIOS as OP instructed.
3. Installed on a 2nd 500GB HDD (it wasn't used anyway, so my vista is still intact). This way I can dual boot but each time have to change in the BIOS either RAID or ACHI.
4. The customization options when installing the iAtkos 7 is slightly different from what OP described but I just followed the basic judgement and it worked the first try! Now all I can remember is (not complete, follow OP's instruction for most part)
-Chameleon v1 as the bootload
-Intel speedstep driver and throttling control.

5. After installation it booted very speedy into the system.
6. Using Kext Helper b7, I installed the Audio driver and sleep fix provided in thread 1.
7. I know that my wireless chipset is RT2571WF, not sure whether that's the same as OP but I found on the official website the provided driver is different. So I downloaded that driver instead. After install and restart, the USB wireless utility didn't found anything so i hot unplug and plugged the wireless chip and it was detected and has been working since then.
8. Somehow, at the beginning (like ten times restarting the router and the computer) the ethernet kept getting a 169.xx like IP and wont go online. Eventually, lucky me that my router can be flashed into a DD-RWT firmware so I did that under vista and the ethernet had worked since then.
9. I have also the HP media vault 1 generation. I tried to follow HP website instruction but under Network of the Finder it just wouldn't show anything, even though I can log onto the router (192.168.1.1) and the HP mediavault (192xx) by firefox.
10. Eventully under Finder\Go\Connect to server, instead of Browse, I used smb://192.168.1.149 (my HP MV's IP) and it found the HP right away!! Weird why it can't find it by the Network itself (well lots of time Xp or Vista does this as well, can't detect the workgroup neighbour but using the IP they can be found).
11. My Canon printer comes with Mac driver so installation is smooth.
12. Some other small problem I will report in next post.

To conclude, very functional and stable Mac OS X is now running on my HP m9250f PC. Thanks OP again and hopefully you can help me with some other small questions in the next post. Cheers!

Now some remaining small issue, OP or anyone please help.
1. The analog sound (the back port and the front headphone port) all works but the S/PDIF port doesn't work. I know it works under Vista and that's what i use to connect to my receiver. Is there way to make the SPDIF work under Mac?

2. The Nvidia card works fine, do I need to install the driver provided in the 1st thread (Video 8400-8800 as it says).

3. I installed the sleep fix but i still can't get it waken up after put into sleep mode. Under Vista it's not a problem. So must be sth related to the OS X?

4. Will this OS function just like the real Mac? For example, if I would purchase the iLife from their website, would it install? the iLife suite is the reason I got interested in the Hachintosh as their features (demoed on their website) is so cool and I just can't find an equivalent on Vista.

5. Also if I would purchase say a high quality USB microphone that is made compatible with real Mac, would it work with my OSX? Same question on any accessories out there that are made for Mac.

6. While using the system, I can hear the DVD drive being accessed (as it makes that accessing sound just like when the computer starts). It happens every 10 min or so, not so noisy but annoying, and I am worried that it may wear out the drive. Any idea?

Thanks!

Great post man, I'm glad to hear that worked for you, this will useful for new members, now my answers.

1. We dont have full suport for audio, actually we got mic and almost all the outputs working just in 10.5.6, so your lucky XD you will need to buy a Sound Card with full OSX support for now, or you can try with voodooHDA project.

2. May sure your getting full QE/CI support, if you do, dont worry about the link in the 1st page.

3. The sleepfix is for 10.5.6, It wont work for 10.5.7, check the old comments I post a package to fix some issues like this.

4. Yeah this is not the best way to get it like a real mac, cuz we are using distros, but iAtkos is good way to feel it like a real mac, we can update without problems, the perfomance is good, if you wanna try the best installation go with Retail, you can check my blog on Insanelymac, theres good comments about how to it or just try in your own with munkys guide. Is funny about the iLife, i barely use apps on OSX but it help me alot 2 months ago I make a full project with iMovie and Burned with iDVD without problem, good stuff, so yeah if you wanna buy it go for it ;D

5. The microphone should work without problem.

6. This is weird now, it access the DVD drive even without DVDs on it? try with package that I told u before.

Hope it help ;D

icchansan

Can you give me any guidance? I'm really stuck and have no idea what to do.

I've tried iAtkos 5, IPC 10.5.6, and iAtkos 7, and they all failed at different points in the installation, and none were actually installed ...

We have almost exactly the same setup (mine m9250f) and mod the flash isn't as hard as you think. I don't know what exactly it did but the interface didn't change at all and still show version 5.17 in the BIOS.

Well OP could have way of install without modding I guess. But after modding I got it running on the first try.

Default HP e9150t - won't restart

My computer (HP Elite e9150t, i7-920 processor, 6GB DDR3-1066MHz SDRAM, 1TB 7200 rpm SATA 3Gb/s hard drive, 1GB ATI Radeon HD 4850) continually won't start after installation.

I have tried Generic ISO - disk swap, the actual Mac OS disk, won't even install.

I tried Ideneb 1.4 which will go through the entire install and then have loading errors and won't start up. (I've tried this on two different hard drives, one will Vista on it with a seperate partition and freshly formated HD, that works fine in my PowerMac G5.

I tried as it stated on the Forum iAtkos v5i which it won't even boot into the installation process.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm on my 10-11 install.
