I have Realtek ALC888S onboard audio, no idea what audio card you have in the IPIBL-LA, please post your audio chipset onboard

Yes I have IPIBL-LB. I was installing iAtkosv5i and IPC 10.5.6 straight from DVD, without customizations or modifications or anything using 5.17 BIOS downloaded from your link, and I was continually getting the same kernel panics.

Now I tried iAtkos 7 and the DVD wasn't loading for more than 10 seconds before I got a kernel panic (screenshot below).

At this point, I'd be more than happy to get ANY distro working, just so I can make my HP Pavilion usable!

So then others with similar problems recommended iPC 10.5.6, and when I run that, I get the gray screen with the apple for about 10 minutes, then it goes to a darker gray screen for another 10 minutes and the entire time there I will get a spinning beachball, and then it will just shut off. This has happened 3 times in a row.

Any advise at all?

P.S. I have already loaded 5.17 BIOS, and changed the HD to AHCI and enabled the XD thing, so none of those are the problem.

infortunatly it doesnt show as a airport
after installing you will need to set it up on the network setup page
add a new network and on the dropdown select (en1) its the one who worked for me.

Cheers

Alain

if someone find the way to set it up as a airport let us know!
