Repair kit fixed my sleep too. I also get that popping noise when waking from sleep. I just adjust the volume and it goes away. Pretty annoying though.
Firewire still doesn't work for me. But I do see progress. Now it gives me this message in system profiler:

"Unable to list FireWire devices"

I am trying to connect my Sony MiniDV camcorder. Other than this, system is running great.

Cheers

Have you tried removing the "AppleHPET.kext" file from /System/Library/Extensions (or even use the iDeneb 10.5.7 upgrade package and select oldHPET fix)?

This helped with my firewire issues.

Hello! I have an HP m9040n. I just updated to 10.5.7 and everything works just as well as before. The sound didn't work initially but I installed the .kext file again and BAM I have my sound back.

I still don't have firewire & I would really love to have it... if anyone has any suggestions please let me know! I'm going to do some research and if I figure it out I'll post my results.

Thanks everyone!

I removed the "AppleHPET.kext" but still no FireWire. Can you provide me with the oldHPET kext?

Thanks!

Cheers

Odd that it didn't fix it, not sure if these will be any help then, but worth a shot.

Here is the oldHPET fix from that 10.5.7 Repair kit -> http://filefactory.com/file/ag1cc0b/n/oldHPET_pkg_zip

and here is another fix using Disabler.kext and the 10.5.6 kext (not sure if this will work but it did for me once) -> http://filefactory.com/file/ag1cch9/...NEB_10_5_6_zip

What make/model is your PC and/or Firewire card?
