Default iDeneb v1.3 Leopard 1.5.5 Installation Advice

Hey there guys, i'm trying to install iDeneb onto my pc as i'm curious to see what this is like, however i cannot get it to boot up

I have tried two different installations so far, my first installation i didn't use any customisation of drivers etc, just did the vanilla install. With these settings it would boot up but get stuck on a message saying using x buffer headers and x clusters.

Next i tried anew install and customised it to install the ATI HD Base Driver, the 9.40 Kernel and the AC97 Sound drivers. With this installation it would boot to a screen which says i required a reset, however after the reset it would return to this screen. In verbose mode it said package 0 did not get a HPET.

I tried many different combinations of -x -v cpus=1 in both installations and still no luck so i've hit a bit of a brick wall.

I was hoping some of you would have some advice as to what i could do? I'm not really sure how i should customise my install if i was to reinstall, maybe someone more qualified could help, heres my specs.

CPU: Q6600 o/c 3Ghz
RAM: 4GB DDR
MB: MSI P45 Neo3-FR
GFX: ATI Radeon 4850

I have two hard drives, disk 0 is a 500GB ide drive, it has two partitions, first one 450GB is data, second one, 50GB is for Leopard. disk1 in a 500GB Sata Drive, two partitions again, first being 450GB for Vista, this is my primary drive, 50GB for windows 7 which i haven't installed yet.

Interestingly i was going to install mac on the second partition on my SATA drive but for some reason in the installation it doesn't pick up my SATA hard drive, only my IDE hard drive, not too much of a problem i think because i can install to the ide drive and select it to boot.

Well thanks for reading this guys, i hope there is some advice you can give me!

1 - You have to MOD your BIOS to install a distro or use DSDT Patch to Install Retail
2 - Theres no support for your Video Card

You can find your BIOS MOD here, is the last one.

Read about DSDT Patch here

hey thanks for the reply, is there many dangers with modding the bios? Will it mess up with all my other settings? I don't want to write off my computer for the sake of some fun after all if i do this what install should i go with, the vanilla or the one with patches i've installed?

Will the lack of video card support stop me from being able to use mac? Or will it just limit graphical applications?

Well I have like 10 months with my BIOS MOD, and everything works nice, your system will run at the same speed, its not overclock or something like that, yeh you can install vanilla kernel if you dont wanna MOD you can use DSDT Patch, it gonna work like your BIOS MOD, but is via software, and need to install retail with 132 bootloader, all this info you can find it using google.

Now about your video, well it wont let you change screen resolution, graphical application, check the HCL if you wanna try another Video Card, good luck

Hey there,

Can you resend me the original 5.32 bios? I think I have solved the restart/shutdown sleep issue with this bios, but need the original to test with.

Or,
Send me the dsdt.aml if your pc uses dsdt override, would be faster to test, and safer this way till I get it 100% working, the problem was right in front of my face the hole time, but it was stuck in my head that, that wasn't the codec that needed edit, have tested it with my wifes pc, seems to work fine, but every dsdt is different.

I was going to post in the original thread, but it seems to be locked now.
thanks,
-OMN
