i got a laptop here and trying to get MAC on it.

don't know if i can do this or not on my laptop. can't seem to find any info about it.

i have a Dell Inspiron 2200

specs :

Intel Pentium M (1.4GHz) Processor
700+ DDR333 Memory
40GB 4200rpm Hard Drive
24x CD-RW/DVD Combo Drive
14.1" XGA LCD and Intel GMA 900 Integrated Graphics with 128MB Shared Memory
AC'97 Audio
v.92 56Kbps Modem, 10/100 Ethernet, 802.11g Wireless
Three USB 2.0 and One Type II PC Card Slot

i tryed the newest ver of IPC 10.5.6 and can't get the installer to load right.

and i downloaded XxX 10.5.5 Beta1 PPF1 and the installer works fine. but i don't know what i do or don't need.

i have tried installing the XxX 10.5.5 Beta1 with a few options and without none and get the same error.

after the install ends right, it reboots so i take the cd out and it goes to the gray apple screen and the spinning icon loads then a wite box with a no pic cut out of it sits right on top of the apple on the screen and does nothing after that but keeps spinning.

anyone know a good install that will work on my laptop ?

i want to play arround with learning about ipod touch apps.

if it's something i think i can do and have fun with i'll jump and get a MAC

You need to customize your installation, try again and install a patched kernel Like Voodoo or Speedstep, and remember to install Ps2nub or Ps2 fix, to get support for your keyboard and mouse pad, good luck

i tried as listed and still was getting the same error. i didn't see the one names speedstep but it did have an old_speedstep.

i tried installing every witch way i can.

so i downloaded iATKOS_5i and working with this one now.

has anyone gotten OSX86 10.5.5 + working on a inspiron 2200 ?

also what would be the best way to farmat the hard drive ?

create a master boot partion or just format it ?

oh well with iatkos you can try voodoo kernel , check this site to know everything about this OS and what you need to install

thanks for the site. i been reading for a while and playing with it. but still nothing. so i started trying it on my desktop i built. figered i would have a better chance at getting it to work. but it seems to do the same as the laptop at times.

Download the MSIWindosx file from somewhere, and use that, worked for me perfectly
