Unhappy Weird problem after installing iDeneb

Hello guys!

I have installed iDeneb and very happy with it. I guess I'll need some guidance how to fix few things and then, it is all perfect...
I have an Asus P5B MB with dual core Intel, 4GB Ram.

1. Installed the system using a PS2 keyboard. In one point after rebooting, the keyboard did not worked anymore. I installed a USB keyboard and it is working fine but I wish to fix it coz the USB keyoard is from another system and it is ugly. What should I do? Do I have to install some kext files?

2. Problem with the CD/DVD drives. I have two SATA CD/DVD drives and most of the times, after I insert a DVD data or anything in any of the drives, it will NOT eject anymore. During this problem, I can use the other drive with no problmes as long as one drives is stuck with a CD/DVD inside. I have to reboot and before booting the OSX I have to eject it. If it does reboot, I can not open it anymore and the weirdest thing, I can not see that drive anymore!
How could I fix this, please?

Thank you for reading this.

Try to install this to get PS2 working, about the DVD, are you ejecting with dvd drive or via software? try dragging the dvd icon to the trash,

Hi icchansan,

I have the same issue after installing ideneb 10.5.5 the PS2 keyboard does not work (interestingly during the installation the PS2 keyboard did work fine). I could work around by unloading and loading the kext ACPIPS2Nub.kext after login - which made my PS2 keyboard to be recognized and working.

However now with the patch you provided the PS2 is dead.... - the apple usb keyboard works.

Any thoughts?

Thanks.

HI DigitAll,

I have the same issue #2 on my G4 Powermac running Tiger after replacing the factory DVD drive with a compatible NEC DVD RW. The drive just keeps the DVD and disappears from the device list and only after reboot the disk can be recovered. So far I could not find any solution to this. Is your DVD drive also a NEC DVD-RW?

Thanks,
rfc4711

Installing the PS2 patch fixes the keyboard issue. Thank you very much icchansan!

The CD/DVD drives are driving me nuts... I was trying to install Final Cut Pro which requires few DVD disks and when it prompts to insert the next one, the first drive that is already inserted won't eject under any method.
I even inserted a needle in forced ejected it but then it's kinda' dead, would not read or anything.

As I mentioned, I have two SATA DVD/CD drives and I tried and removed one and see if any changes but no, it still behaves the same. It seems to me that it is a driver/script issue that it does not interface correct.
I have two hard drives and two CD/DVd drives connected to 4 SATA inputs. Would it make any difference if I swap the inputs?

What else we could try to make it work, please?

funny, in my ideneb 1v3 10.5.5 install dvd it shows as release notes to have the ApplePS2Controller, however in the customization menu it does not show under the fixes.... I suppose I didn't install it then.

In my /System/Library/Extensions there is a ApplePS2Controller kext.

Thank you, I tried to install this fix, however with it the PS2 is not recognized at all and I can't workaround to kextunload/load the ACPInub.kext to make it work.

Another interesting datapoint,

with fix PS2Fix1054 after deep sleep my PS2 keyboard works
with fix after fresh start PS2 keyboard does not work

on install CD PS2 keyboard works... I've even loaded the install kernel with the PS2kext's from ideneb v1.3 without success.

The USB mouse and PS2 keyboard seems to make troubles.

[QUOTE=icchansan;380701]Well I dont have this DVD, never tried to install but they say they have this in customize:

thats what they say, can't choose it though...

Any more ideas of how to get the PS2 keyboard to work properly?
