Default Installing iATKOS on HP Pavilion dv6137tx Notebook PC

Greetings all Geeks out there!

This is my first Thread/Post ever in life as I never had a trouble in troubleshooting my personal computer issues.

I have an HP Pavilion DV6137TX Notebook PC

The configuration is as follows:

Intel Core 2 Duo T5500
Pheonix BIOS
120 GB SATA HDD
nVIDIA GeForce GO 7400 (128 MB Dedicated Memory)
Windows XP Media Center (Stock OEM)
Currently Running Windows Vista Ultimate, Ubuntu 8.10 and Fedora 10.

I am trying my each breathe out to get Mac OS X Leopard install over my notebook computer but I failed in every try.

I tried:

iATKOS v4.01i
iATKOS v4.1i
iATKOS v5i

with/without almost every combination of patches available in the installation options. iATKOS v4.1i never got installed and returned an error "Unable to Validate Intel..."
iATKOS v5i worked fine everytime and installed Mac OS X Leopard on the system but never showed me a sign of hope upon restart.

Either there was an error msg "Please Restart the computer by pressing and holding the power button for long time" or the busy pointer on Apple Screen kept on rotating for days.

In all it never let me see the Mac OS X screen ever on my system.

I request you all to help me over the same as I have bet my fellow colleagues that Mac OS X Leopard can be installed on any HP notebook, but the irony is that I am unable to prove it by installing the same on mine, which is a shame.

I am yearning to see Mac OS X Leopard running on my computer Dual Boot with Windows OS.

For more details over my notebook PC please visit:

However, there are no precised specifications provided in the webpage. Just for your reference.

I am looking forward for your responses dear friends.

Thanks a plenty.

Default Installing iATKOS on HP Pavilion dv6137tx Notebook PC

Well I tried almost all set of combinations provided in iATKOS v4i/v5i.
OS X got installed without trouble in a few combinations of patches/bootloaders/etc. but never ran the OS X.

Yesterday, I tried to install iATKOS v2i which got installed successfully with no customization done and ran fine.
For the first time I saw Mac running on my notebook.
But eventually, I ended up in messing the primary OS that was Vista. When I repaired Vista, Mac never came back. It returned a Chain Error to me.

The boot loader that was selected is Darwin. I performed all steps to set GUID path to Chain0 and stuff like that (as mentioned in most of the dual boot information)

Now, I am in a position where I may keep only one OS running in my computer. Either Mac or Vista.

What do I do now? Plz help.

Well you can install both, if you lost vista or install just osx but you wanna/need both system, this is what need to do:

1 - Install Vista
2 - Install OSX
3 - Repair Vista with the installation disc to fix the booloader
4 - Follow this to dual boot

Is really easy good luck, if you have any issue please post back and Merry Christmas

Thanks a plenty my friend...
You have been a great help to me. I was almost giving up after trying so hard to install Mac in my notebook.
I'd definitely try the tips that you have shared but I have another concern now.

Using iATKOS v2i, Mac gets installed in my notebook without any trouble.
Upon flagging the Partition 1, Vista Startup returned an error (which can be fixed easily using the installation disc)
But above all, even Mac didn't boot for the second time. It returned Chain Booting Error or sometimes Invalid System Disc.
I tried this atleast 3 times in order to confirm if the Mac installation was performed fine for the first time or not.

I recovered Vista, edited BCD with GUID and other stuff but even after then Mac never came back. It gave me booting error which was then impossible for me to repair.

This is the last step that I need to take care of. Once done, I'll be as happy as the other Mac users.

Please see if anything can be done in this case. I did see Mac running on my computer, but it never came back the second time I turned it on (with or without Dual boot).

Mean while, I'll try the tips that you have provided.

Thanks once again.

My friend,

I have tried almost everything that was available.

-v, -vat and all such commands are old stories for me.

The first one that I tried was iATKOS v5i only which got installed but never worked.
I kept on downgrading till iATKOS v1.0 r2 where I found out that only iATKOS v2.0i is working on my system, but that too for the first time after installation.
It gets installed, works for the first time and once the computer is restarted, it becomes a history.

Sometimes it returns "Invalid System Disc Error" or "Chain Booting Error"

As far as Chain Botting is concerned, I m positive that I haven't made any mistakes in assigning the bootloader to Mac while Vista is the primary OS.

Tried my nerves out and finally.... gave up. The only reason for the same is that I have got only once computer with me which I need almost everytime.

When I install/format my notebook, I dont have any access to the internet, therefore I get the documents printed out and proceed there after.

I followed almost every post in Hackint0sh but couldn't be a help to me.

I still hope for a substantial reply from you techies available here.

Thanks.
