yes I've read many post on updating and tried many and just about all osx86 installs ( jas,iathos,leo4all,ideneb, leo4allv3 ) you name it for months now. Leo4all v2 was the only good install. I posted somewhere here for someone here how i finally got update done following a step by step guide by a post here or on insanelymac. i'm a noob so i don't remember who but did i thank them. everything works even the sigmatel sound, i can live with entering "update" at boot prompt but i thought maybe i Could edit the boot up file to enter "update" like the win.ini file in windows. I've been playing with installs now for about a year 10.8.4 to 10.5.5. I'm now running Vista ultimate and leo4allv2 on a Dell Dimension 3100, intel celeron 2 hd's.

icchansan thanks for your help. I'm afraid to start over, I updated leo4allv2 to (10.5.5) and all of apples updates + sound. I think I would be better off just entering "update" at prompt. I thought I could just edit a file. I've never use terminal. I wouldn't know where to start. please check my post on the stickie update. maybe i'll try this on my usb hd.
