Hi all,

I'm looking to install OS X on my Dell Vostro 1500. I'm new to this idea so wasn't really sure where to look but i was recommended this forum by a friend so thought i'd ask a few quick questions. Here is my current set up.

CORE 2 DUO T7300 2.00GHz,800,4M
2048 MB 667 MHz Dual-Channel DDR2 SDRAM
256 MB NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT
Intel® Pro Wireless 3945 802.11a/b/g Mini-PCI Card EUR

I'm wondering how this will run OS X as I'm looking to replace my primary OS (ubuntu 9.04 jaunty jackalope) with it. Amongst the normal issues I am wondering if a number of things will work properly:

- ipod support
- dell built in webcam
- wireless
- wired ethernet

Which distribution would you recommend? Would i need to do much tweaking once I've installed it?

HCL 10.5.6/Portables - OSx86

Someone report how to customize and everything, so you can try with any distro with 10.5.6 or go with the latest iatkos v7i or iDeneb with 10.5.8, good luck and report back your progress

thanks. i think from a bit of research everything should be ok except the wireless card, an Intel® Pro Wireless 3945. unfortunately this might be the crucial factor that stops me from going osX86 as i normally need this every day in my lab

Yeh you can always check right there in the HCL for USB wifi, there some for $10 with OSX support, work OTB with Airport support
