I just upgraded to 10.5.7. I lost all the kexts I had for audio, network and display, now only have crippled resolution no audio and no network. It's a Shuttle K45. I would appreciate any advice on how to bring the kexts back.

I just picked up a Mini 9 Hackintosh last Sunday. It seems to run great with 10.5.6. I purchased it in current config so I don't have a retail copy of 10.5 to restore it if the update bricks it.
Any real life experience with 10.5.7 yet? Thanks. |

Seems like it shouldn't be too hard to backup kexts, update, and then reinstall them?
Someone wanna give it a try?

Well I just updated to 10.5.7 and it's fine. Just copy the system/library/extensions folder to the desktop or somewhere be fore you update to 10.5.6. After the update, replace the new 10.5.7 extensions folder with the new one and boot with the -f flag. If you a kext is still not working ( like my audio was) just reinstall JUST THE KEXT from the installation DVD.
I installed with iPC 10.5.6 on an HP dv9700 laptop. Works fine for me! No noticinle improvements but always good to update!

In response to the recommendations for this update and due to the sloppy support from Psystar, i would like to post the instructions for installing this if anyone is having problems with a frozen loading efi \ thing.
After installing updates, my computer would consistently freeze at the loading psystar EFI part of bootup. I had previously sent back my psystar 2 months ago because of a bad power supply, the motherboard required 600w ps, but they had only installed a 450, so naturally the thing died, also i'm in california so maybe the electricity blackout thing may have effected it with dropping power strength. Instructions: After you download and install the updates and reboot, you may as i have, run into some bootup problems. To go into safemode i believe you press Option F8 on a mac when the white boot window appears. On an open pro from psystar (and probably other hackint0sh's) you press Enter F8 at the same time and hold it down until you see a black screen that says up arrow down arrow select your boot drive and the command "option : " after the command "option:" type in "-x" hit Enter my problems after this: hangs at apple loading screen I restart hold down DEL key, go to bios and disable Ascensia Codec, by highlighting it and pressing the Minus key to change it from "Auto" to "Disable" (lan 1, lan 2). (i have to politely ask Johnathan to remove the mic from his nose as all i can hear is him inhaling and exhaling while the thing loads) Johnathan from psystar tells me he's going to look into his troubleshoot log to see where to go from here, as i'm still getting stuck in Loading at the grayish white apple screen with the loading circle at the bottom center. I'm on hold so i'll post more later as i have new info. Thanks. Hope this helps someone As i can't find instructions anywhere
