Default W0rld 0f warcraft

I tried putting the WoW client on an external drive to run on my Dell hackint0sh and it would not run. It just kind of flashes and does not start.
Has anyone had this running? And how did you get it to start.
Sam

Why would you want to run the windows version of WoW on a mac? Why not just install the mac version of the software and run it? I was able to run it just fine on my Macbook (2.4Ghz, 4GB DDR2, 160GB HDD, Intel GMA graphics 256MB VRAM). Granted, my computer would get very hot if I left it on anything other than a hard surface, but that is to be foreseen. I am pretty sure that almost every Mac that is up-to-date should be able to run that software just fine.

What do you mean, you mean anyone can install a windows wow on Mac?
Yeah in that case because of the Hybrid Disk.

I've played the mac version of Wow on my previous intel iMac as well as on a macbook and my current hackintosh. There's always a slight FPS drop compared to the windows version on the same hardware (wow installed in windows either boot camped or normally on a hackintosh PC). The drop in FPS is because the opengl code of wow isn't as fast as the directx code, you can check that with -opengl parameter in windows too. There's no much sense in emulating windows wow in os x as it'd have to use opengl too. The difference in FPS isn't so big it alone would make sense for dual boot though. I think the OS X port by blizzard is good enough.

I've got it running perfect on my Asus P5VD2-VM with 9800GT 1gb card.

You need to have Quartz Extreme and CI installed otherwise the game won't boot. The best way to do this is download and install Aquamac's Nvidia 9 series Macbook Pro drivers and also the NV .52 installer.pkg (google them). Install Aquamac's drivers THEN the NV installer afterwards, and you should have a perfectly working system.

Though my card is a 1gb, it currently reads 768mb because the 1gb option is not available with Quartz Extreme.
