Default HELP can not upgrade to 3.0

i have iphone 2g with 2.2.1 firmware
unlock and jailbreak using quickpwn 2.2.5

I tried downloading os 3.0 (official) just now and then try to upgrade (shift+restore) using my PC. first try it tried to restore then after a while (less than 10 minutes) it said "can not restore" btw i am using itunes 8.0.1.11

I tried again and again with same results. now I am restoring it back to 2.2.1 and it works again.

Can anyone help me here? do I have to upgrade my itunes to 8.2 ??

What I had to do

- Upgrade to 8.2 Itunes
- Do a shift/upgrade then select new firmware

You will lose your jailbreak so you need to decide if you want to lose that

i upgraded itunes to 8.2 and shift+restore to 3.0, this time it works!
status: the carrier signal is on, I can make calls and receive calls, also receiving sms. But the screen is dfu screen (itunes cable). in short unlock survive, activation NO, and jailbreak NO, springboard NO

tried to downgrade to 2.2.1 using itunes 8.2 as well as 8.01, both fails, on 8.2 it says error 20 and 8.01 it asked me to upgrade my itunes to 8.2 or later

now wondering whether I should wait till jailbreak 3.0 available or try to find a way to force my 2g iphone to downgrade (any known method here??) and regain unlock and jailbreak with quickpwn plus mobileinstallation patch
