Is there any way to use quickpwn without a power button?
My iphone is a 2G with 1.1.4 (unlocked and jailbroken). It fell on the floor several weeks ago and I guess this damaged the power button. It looks and works fine otherwise. If anyone has a suggestion on how I could upgrade to 2.2.1 let me know. |

After searching here extensively and asking google, I've come to the conclusion that this isn't possible. I tried to use software methods to enter DFU but it doesn't seem to work on the 2.x+ firmware.
I disassembled my iphone to get a closer look at the power/sleep button. It seems to be in good physical working order. The electrical contact mechanism makes the clicking sound, but it doesn't work, so I'm guessing this electrical contact part is busted. This is part of the headphone assembly and only costs $30. Hopefully replacing this will to the trick. If anyone has any other suggestions or insight let me know. |
