Hi,

i have a serious problem with my iphone 2G (it's currently on 2.2.1). i can't get it in DFU mode. i have already jailbroken an iphone 3G so i know how to do it but with this 2G it won't work.

I also can't get to the menue screen. there is no slider for unlock just for emergency calls.

Another thing is that everytime i unplug it from Itunes i can't switch it off it just keeps on rebooting. And i can't turn it on once it is unplugged.

Everytime i try to get it in DFU mode it switches to the black screen but it won't stay black, the aple log just reappears.

Do you guys have any idea what might be the problem or is it just broken?

have u ever had problems with ur power button ????

sounds like it might not be woking properly....
would explain why u can get into DFU mode and also why u cant switch it on and off ......
and the continuous reboot might be the result of the incomplete jailbreak process...

Now i really think my powerbutton is broken (maybe the logic board as well). I found a way to get into dfu per software using my pc. this brings me to the next problem.

How do i unlock/jailbreak my phone without being able to use the powerbutton? (btw. i am stuck at the emergency screen because my phone is not activated.)

I even bought a rebel sim for the 2g but i can't activate my phone with it either.

any ideas?

Having the same problem... I manged to unlock mine, but still my iPHone keeps rebooting when not connected to a power source.
