Hello... I have been trying for the last three weeks to unlock my 2G iphone. I can get it successfully unlocked with QWKPWN but it will not allow me to use my sim. I am running windows vista, the iphone is at 2.2.1 and 4.05.04 and I am trying to use my current At&t sim (from an old phone, not the iphone). Can anyone offer me any tips. Thanks in advance for all your help. You all are great.

Ok, so i tried what you suggested and I was still not able to UNLOCK the phone. It will recognize my AT&T sim and I havefull barsbut I can only make emergency calls and it says that I need to connect to Itunes. I tried taking the sim out and using BootNueter but Bootneuter freezes up on me.
the jailbreak was completely successful though. ?????Any other suggestions?

Have you tried any other sim cards apart from the at&t one?

Not yet, but that is my next option. My card is an old cingular card maybe 4 or 5 years old. Could that be a problem?

The only time I see/heard of this similar issue is when your iphone IMEI number does not match with what's printed on the back of the iphone.

In your case, I think your SIM is way too old. Man... Cingular, that was a long time ago.
Try using with a tmobile sim or any other sim you can borrow from friends.
If that works, it's time to replace your cingular sim card

That would make complete sense but I have tried my wifes, 3G SIM from her phone and I got the same error. Does the fact that I am runing 4.05.04_g baseband make a difference?

04.05.04_G is perfectly ok.
As long as the baseband is unlocked, it should work.
Are you sure the BB is unlocked?
Does it give any errors when you put the SIM into phone?

It just says "different SIM detected" "Please connect to Itunes"

I finally got this worked out. If anyone has been having this same problem Here is what worked for me.
You need to restore and run quickpwn WITHOUT the sim in the phone.
After i did it this way it worked fine for me.
