Default I hate Apple

DISCLAIMER: I love my iPhone and can't think of any phone that even comes close to it.

Seriously, I do.

Long rant ahead.

I think Apple PCs are for fashion designers, architects, and poseurs. Useless toys that need Windows XP to be useful.

I hate the way Steve Jobs groupies behave. How do they have the nerve to criticise Bill Gates is beyond me. For all of Microsoft's mistakes (Vista, anyone?), they behave like a real company should. Jobs groupies would fellate him on stage if let lose. Disgusting.

As I type this, I'm getting ready to freakin' upgrade my iPhone. AGAIN.

1.0.2, 1.1.1, 1.1.2, 1.1.3, 1.1.4, 1.2, 1.2.1, 1.2.2. Or whatever.

Each one a "#$"$"# 150 - 250 MB download. Each one with a new set of problems. Each one slower than the last.

Oh, but I also need to download iTunes. 7.4.1 to 7.7.1. I can't even remember how many times I've upgraded it, at 60 or so MB per download. iTunes is the worst music manager I've ever used. Windows Media Player is 1,000 times better and faster. Winamp is even better than both.

I'm sick and tired of Apple. People complain about Microsoft. Guess what? MICROSOFT DOESN'T MAKE SH!T LIKE THIS! I download every now and then a 5 MB patch and everything works fine in XP. FINE. I don't need to upgrade Windows Media Player each and every day. My PocketPC works fine without upgrading its firmware every two minutes.

What kind of RETARD thought a ONE year old device needs EIGHT major firmware revisions? What kind of REAL company does this to customers?

I can understand that jailbroken apps stop working with each change of version. After all, Apple does not recognise them as official. Uh, unless they are great apps, like Band. In that case, Apple brings them to AppStore for $7, or whatever. Uhm, great.

I can't understand EIGHT freaking major firmware revisions that haven't significatively changed the way the iPhone works. THE IPHONE WORKED GREAT FROM VERSION 1.0.2. AND IT WAS FAST. Unless some major portions of the code were broken, I can't imagine why Apple feels the "need" to send +200 MB packages to "update" the thing. JUST SEND THE UPDATES. I DON'T NEED TO DOWNLOAD 250 MB EVERY MONTH, OR EVEN MORE OFTEN.

As for the security issues: Apple, you just make me laugh. Your followers say Windows is insecure - care to notice how many hours it takes the dev team to hack your new firmware? The only reason why Macs don't have virus or hacking problems is because NOBODY CARES ABOUT 0.5% OF THE INSTALLED BASE. Apple, you are as insecure as anyone else - probably worse than Microsoft.

Rant over, I need to go back and see if 2.0.2 or whatever the new version is is at least a bit faster than 2.0.1.

Apple, I hate you.

I am assuming two things:
1) this should be read with a little bit of levity
2) you are not the best at articulation of a feeling without a buckshot approach.

With those two things said. I have to agree with you. Not your presentation, but with your points.

I've never seen a product so locked up (jail'd perhaps?) as Apple products. They are GREAT devices for those who don't want to deal with the back end architecture. But if you actually want to tweak something, you can't do it as easily as with Windows products.

Otherwise, I love the fisher-price front end of apple products. Always makes me grin when I see them.

Yes, indeed.

I'm looking at my iPhone, and I wonder when I became a slave to this device. iTunes is asking me to update itself, then asking me to download 2.0.2.

I'm a gadget freak and a tinkerer, but this is far too much. It's like giving a tune-up to my car every 15 days.

the fact that YOU dont know how to use them properly is not my problem a$$hole!.... I bet you use your windows based PC just to play solitaire and watch porn while getting it infested with viruses, trojans, adware, bloatware, spyware etc etc..... Just as an example... try to render a whole pixar animation studios movie on a pc.... it would be an EPIC FAIL..... moron.....

Is this why they call it the Jesus Phone.
Anybody says anything against it and they get blasted.

Love my iphone & hate it. (If youve been married you know what I mean).

Hate apple no doubt about that.

My hackintosh account is there just so I can keep unlocking my phone every month.
And then spend 10 days geting it back to the way I like it.

Im so old school my laptop didnt have a hard disk. We would boot windows 1.0 off one 720K floppy. And run apps off the other 720K floppy.
Now we have vista and the bug fixes from Microsoft are in the Giga Bytes.

I think this is the price we have to pay for improvements in tech.
Its only going to get worse.

I predict that in a year you will have iphone clones that are better than the original.

What apple is too lazy to fix cause they are focusing more on locking our phones will be fixed by somebody else.

I hate Apple too, for one main reason. They don't give a rat's ass about what the customer wants. Want to put some awesome yet unapproved apps on your phone? Too bad. Want to purchase an unlocked iphone at a higher price? Tough luck. You get their little sandbox to play with and thats it.

That being said, in my experiences, Apple products are the easiest to set up, use, and maintain, and the user interfaces are beautiful without being excessive. Take Vista for example, Aero 3D is pretty nice looking, granted, but what purpose does it serve? With Leopard, there are just as many visual effects, but they don't distract you from what you're trying to do.

On a semi-related note, I was done waiting for Apple to release a mini notebook, so I just picked up an aspire one (winxp). You can get one for $350 at micro center and it just blows all other netbooks out of the water. You can also install Leopard . Highly recommended. (and no, I don't work for acer, just a satisfied customer...blah blah blah)
