I just picked up a white 16GB 3G and I cant get this phone to unbrick. When I got it I knew it wasn't working since the price was low. The phone has a white screen that will not go away no matter what restore I do. Any suggestions?

I also get the Error the iPhone cannot be used with iTunes because the information required for activation could not be obtained from the iPhone.

I'm no expert on the 3G but I think you have to restore the 3G firmware to it. If you can.
If the phone cannot be activated via iTunes then my guess is because it cannot figure out the serial number and/or IMEI number of the phone.
The phone needs to be able to bootup normally.

I believe I was using 3 G firmware which was posted on this forum in the Gen Talk section where all the firmwares are.

I know, sell it to me :-)
Seriously though, folk will need more info before they can help, give details of what you have tried, i.e. DFU mode, Quickpwn, original firmware restore, etc.

You can have it for what I paid $350.

I have tried the DFU mode and original apple restore and still the damn white screen of death.

I plan on taking it to the Apple store and see what they say. I am not sure if they will replace it since I dont have service.

Issue resolved, went to store and they replaced it stating hardware failure.
