So I have winpwnd 2.0 and I have full intentions of unlocking my iphone when it becomes available. I see that there ar special steps taken with the bootloaders 3.9 and 4.6 to make sure this is possible in the future, while upgrading to 2.0.1. But what about me? Should I also mess with the boot loaders even though I have ATT? I want to make sure I don't hinder my ability to unlock the phone in the future. Please only reply if you know what your talking about. Thanks!

if you gonna use only the att sim card
you can upgrade via itunes to 2.0.1 (or 2.0.2) and use quickpwn to jailbreak and add the installer or cydia. be aware you baseband will be upgrade. you be able to use only att sim card. other sim card will be work only with some sim adapters. |

the iphone dev blog says.
if you upgrade via itunes, there is a baseband update, this may or may not hinder your chances for an unlock in the future. if you upgrade via pwnage. there is a box to untick which disables baseband update, allowing you to upgrade safely, apparently. i wouldnt even worry about updating yet anyway it doesnt exactly drasticly enhance your iphone experiance. I have an unlocked 3g and i cant even be botherd to update. |
