every time i try to restore iphone i get An unknown error occurred (6)

i have no idea what this means if anyone know anyway around this plz help me out thanks


update!!! only for 3G

i got it to reload but it was not using DFU thanks for all your help guys


just to let anyone that run into this problem know make sure you download the ipsw from apple not from rapidshare links not one ever work for me

read the part that say's

i think you will find you are putting your phone in recovery mode

put your phone into DFU mode

search utube to do this,

but when you restore you should have a black screen, not the screen with the connect to itunes cable

Sometimes (error 6) the problem is to get into DFU mode properly. Did you check this sticky thread: [winpwn 2.0.0.3] DFU success + DFU instruction ?. It might help you

hey thanks a lot for your help guys but i forgot to say my phone is 3G so using any itune under 7.7 will not work also i try putting the phone in DFU mode it keep saying preparing iPhone for restore it takes a long time then give's the 16xx error
