Iphone Comm board problem?
I have an iphone 2g that was previously at firmware 2.0 and it worked fine and suddenly I got the no service. I tried everything that I could research to try and fix it. I think it may be a hardware problem with the comm board. I get no cellular service but my wi-fi still works fine and I even have apps that were downloaded from the appstore. The phone is currently at firmware 2.2 jailbroken and supposedly unlocked.
My question is whether the wi-fi is affected by the comm board at all? Or is the comm board only for the cellular service? Thanks

look for a schematic of the iphone 2G.
you will see that commboard has both the modem (S-Gold) chip and the wifi chip (Marvell).
