Default [Problem] iPhone doesn't works

Hey, I bought an iPhone on eBay. Wanted to turn it on, nothing happened until I plugged it into the usb port.

The apple loge appeared for 2 seconds and the image changed to the well-known iTunes-Restore picture.

Okay, I first tried to simply restore it in iTunes to a custom 2.1, then to some other firmwares (I have all, beginning with 1.0.1). All ended up with errors in iTunes or the iPhone was shut down.

Okay, I removed iTunes 8 and installed 7.7 first, then 7.5 and gave the firmwares a second try. The same.

kiPhone doesn't do his job, ziPhone can only put it in dfu- or restore mode and so on.

Is there any possibility to get this thing to work?

My errors are: 1604, 1603, 20 and 18.

Thanks a lot for helping

Hey, I tried it 2 minutes ago with iTunes 8.0 and iPhone1,1_2.2_5G77_Restore.ipsw.

The iPhone reboots (new hardware recognized and is being prepared for using and so on) and after about 1 minute it turns off. The progress bar in iTunes is moving and the text is "preparing for recovery" (translated). The iPhone is black (turned off) and after about 4-5 minutes (progress bar still going on) iTunes gives me an error message, which is "The iPhone could not be recovered. An unknown error occured (1603)" (translated)

The seller told me, that he tried to update the iPhone firmware and it got stuck. After that it did not work until today

What can I do?
I thought, it could be a hardware damage, but the seller said, that it got stuck while he was updating the firmware.

Try again, but this time enter in DFU mode manually. (Check the stickies on the general section if you don't know how to do it)

Check this info also: Error 1603 When Restoring iPhone in iTunes
