Hey folks,

i have a 2G iphone with firmware version 1.1.1, unlocked and working perfectly with my provider 02 (germany).

now i want to upgrade my firmware to a version that allows me to connect to cisco vpns (virtual private networks) since my university is only supporting those. i've heard that this is supported since firmware version 2.0.

which is now the best and most safe way for me to upgrade?
questions:
-what is DFN?
-do i need to read more about iBOOTER?
-should i use the most recent firmware version or ir 2.0 more stable?
-Using WINPWN or better QUICKPWN? (working under windows xp)
-which ITUNES version do i need? Currently I am running version 8.
-which tutorial will suit my needs best? Or worked for you having been in the same situation as me?

if i am not mistaken 2.2 is to be released soon you might want to hold out a bit for 2.2?
