Default [2.0.1] [WinPwn] New version for 2.1?

I'm on 2.0.1. and find that this firmware is very sluggish. I've been wanting to upgrade to the new 2.1 but there doesn't seem to be a new winpwn yet?

The current winpwn only supports 2.0.x ? Anyone know if winpwn for 2.1 is coming out soon? Or is it the same as QuickPwn 2.1 ?

Just use QuickPwn for windows (which supports 2.1), its alot faster and you dont even have to use itunes.

(you can download quickpwn here)

If you would still rather wait for WinPwn 3.0, it should be coming out within the next few weeks im guessing but i cant be sure.

But is it true that when you QuickPwn 2.1, you can't upgrade to the next firmware , you must restore thus losing some data and setups (convencience issue for me) ?

When you WinPwn you can just update to the future firmware because it uses a custome ispw ?

Am I wrong?

right wuith quickpwn you restore with oitunes to the new firmware then unlock and jailbreak with quickpwn but with winpwn you just restore to the custom firmware you make with winpwn so either way you use itunes to restore the only difference wtih winpnw is it gives you extra options such as good boot logos and letting you resize the partition but quickpwn leavs the partition at 500mb though it works just fine.

so if you dont care about the boot logos id just use quickpwn

plus 2.2. firmware is in beta stages so within the next month or so i imagine it will be released officially

I had no choice but to use QwkPwn...

I DLed WinPwn and it would crash when It got to the stage right after the DFU mode. Couldnt get it to work..Oh well.

I used Qwkpwn. From 114 to 210 and had no problems and it was a breeze. Yeah it was a full restore but...***shrug*** cant always win .

I used iTunes 8 to upgrade (not restore) my iPhone to 2.1, then used quickpwn to jailbreak (since I'm a legit AT&T customer). Seems as though everything's fine, except for that Untitled webclip that keeps showing up after installing/updating an app (which I have seen no clear solution for).

I"m pretty sure you can just upgrade normally, then use quickpwn. I upgraded from 1.14 to 2.01 with winpwn, then used a custom ipsw to upgrade to 2.1.

If you downloaded Apple's 2.1. Just restore to it and use the latest version of quickpwn to unlock and activate and jailbreak your phone.
