Same problem here. Maybe i let go the home button too early?

Phew, looks like i've been lucky. I simply restored with the custom firmware (unlock and jailbreak 2.1) found here:

http://tobicom.wg-zittau-sued.de/200...ock-jailbreak/

Now i'm on a fully unlocked and jailbreaked 2.1

Yes i faced the same problem too. WinPwn 2.5 Beta 2 will crash whenever it reaches the stage after the DFU mode.

I am currently on 1.1.4 running on vista business edition with itunes 8.0

Really appreciated if someone could shed some light on where might go wrong. Thanks

Very same problem with me, I had to use 2.0.4 and iTunes 7.7 to get it working.

You are using a version of iTunes that isn't compatible with the older WinPwn I believe...

I recently tried winpwn but like everyone else said it crashes while creating the custom restore file. I let it sit 30 minutes and it did create the file but when I used itunes to restore to that custom restore I get error 6 and then the phone is all screwed up and I have to restore back to the current iphone firmware otherwise it justs sits on the plug the phone into your computer screen.

use i tunes 7.7... make sure before you uninstall itunes, quicktime, apple support software, and any other apple programs from add/remove programs from your control panel...
then use itunes 7.7 to restore your custom ipsw file
