i'm stuck when resotre my custom in itune 7.7.1 in DFU mode give me error 1601 when restart itune again give me error 6.

Aha! I knew I wasnt the only one!

I been trying to get around this error issue the entire day...12 hours to be exact and still no solution...changed comps, changed operating systems, build over 12 custom fw....nothing. It is as if steve jobs personally messed up my itunes to give me those errors!

ru able to get into DFU mode properly..???? use winpwn 2.5 guide to get into dfu mode..i had the same prob some time bak....i had 2 problems wch i didnt notice...

* my screen was going black in DFU mode as said in all guides but my phone was not actually in DFU mode had usb prob in my comp..so changed another comp..worked successfully(THIS SOLVED 16XX error which i was getting during restore)

* after i got into DFU mode one more prob started ERROR 6...for me this was bcoz of corrupted ipsw file..jus try redownloading this file from iclarified and try again...thr is no use rebuilding custom ipsw again n again..it wont solve the prob and yeah MAKE PARTITION SIZE to 700...

let me kno if this works out..all the best,..

hmm...i dont think that solves it because these errors are so random...I'd say the jailbreak/unlock will work 1/10 times for me, then when I try to use the same fw that worked that one time....biiiiingggg....ERROR! I am like...what the??? Keeping all things constant how can this be possible? Must be the iPhones? Well they are brand new too! Thats the strange part.


Well the usb issue cannot be the problem since my laptop is brand new. I downloaded all my official firmware from the iclarified guides so thats a no-no. Anybody else wanna try?

What worked for me was re-installing itunes(7.7) and making sure both itunes services(ipod service + apple mobile device service) were running in the background when I was running WinPwn.
