Default [winpwn 2.5](unlock) iPhone 2G unlock problems with Bootneuter

Hey guys,

So i just pwed my friends 2G iPhone with winpwn 2.5 Beta and when it gets to the step to unlock the baseband with bootneuter is gives me an error: "Couldn't talk to the bootloader. This may be due to a CommCenter collision, bootneuter will exit."

The iphone is now jailbroken and activated but will not accept a cross carrier SIM. Has anybody experienced the same problem? Anybody knows how to get around this??

I tried manually doing it by installing bootneuter and unlocking it but it gives me the same above error.

Create a fresh 2.x.x custom FW and try another DFU restore, also u can try quickpwn, but i myself prefer winpwn and pwnage tools
dont much care for quickpwn

Those people with bootloader problem, just copy on the desktop (or specific folder) all files you need:
- PwnageTool
- iPhone firmware
- bootloader

Start PwnageTool and it should work!

You sometimes get that error if you leave BootNeuter then quickly restart it again.

What happens when you just reboot your iPhone and touch the BootNeuter icon once. Does it still complain about a collision?

Yup...u got it...when u start bootneuter it first tries to fetch the current state of the bootloader (i guess) and thats when it finds that it cannot communicate with the bootloader. I went to war with this iPhone trying to figuere out whats wrong...

this is what I have done so far...

downgraded itunes to 7.5
downgraded firmware from 2.01 back to 1.1.4...
tried using iLiberty.....nothing...it activates/jailbreaks fine but no signal...unlock is not possible
I used kiPhone (modified ziPhone) to downgrade the baseband....and it confirms donwgrade yet...BBinfo shows no change in bb.
i tried installing bootneuter in 1.1.4 but BSD Subsystem fails to download...without it I cant install bootneuter.
So now i am trying to upgrade back to 2.0.1 with my custom pwned fw....I am about to give up
