has anyone tried using the old winpwn and pwning 2.1 with the 2.0.2 file in the directory like we had to do before winpwn 2.0.2 came out?

just wondered if the jailbreak precess is the same as it was for 2.0.1 and 2.0.2

No special needs except Installer and Cydia should be in it.

there are a couple on the bay... i am not sure how you go about installing them though... am i right in thinking that custom firmware cant be used with itunes at as it stands?

Hi, I had 2.0.2 working on a 2g device, thanks to WinPwn 2.5. But the I tried upgrading to 2.1 using iTunes 8; everything looked fine, the phone is activated but there's neither Cydia nor Installer now.
Is there any way to get them back? Thanks!

Don't think that's quite legal (and not sure it even works?). It will not take long bevor the new winpwn is done.

upgrading through itunes overrides all your data including installer, cydia. You have to create a new custom firmware for every new version apple releases using a pwnage tool. That you have to put on your phone via itunes.

Or you can use quickpwn. That does its magic after you upgraded regularly through itunes as you did.

For both, pwnagetool and quickpwn i think only mac versions are out yet

I tried to hackintosh my notebook, but I face many kinds of problems doing it.

I already wanted to search on ....bay, but I was getting the "unable to connect error". So I thought it would be down, but after the hint of someone here to look at piratebay, 'cause there are lots of ipsws, i realised that the piratebay ISP is locked for my country(Italy). Lael!

I'm not a mac user neither; linux here, and since pwnage tools are only for win/mac, I had to install win just for that :s
Any suggestions? (other than wait for a win pwnage tool supporting fw 2.1)
