At the moment i have got my 8GB Iphone 2G , it has been jailbroken using winpwn and is running the custom 2.0.1 firmware that winpwn created for me.

The Problem
Now apple has released 2.0.2 firmware and itunes (v8.0) had promt me to either download and install or just download it, what i need to know is will my phone be bricked, locked, broken or whatever if i update it directly from itunes to the new official software?

If anyone had info that could help me that would be great

u will loose all ur 3rd party apps from cydia and installer if u upgrade by clicking the upgrade button, not restore, u can then use quick pw to kailbreak and get cydia and installer

by just upgrading u are still unlocked

Yeh im not too worried about the 3rd party apps, i dont need it unlocked because im on the o2 contract i got with my phone, just wanted to make sure my phone wouldn't be locked/bricked whatever its called

If you're official contact & you don't care about 3rd party apps you don't have anything to worry about, just update and let itunes do the rest.

If you want to jailbreak follow lordofdaflies recommendations or maybe wait till Friday for 2.1 with all the bug fixes.

Ok thanks for that, ill just hold on untill friday n see what happens then just update it through itunes from my Jailbroken 2.0.1 to the new software 2.x.x
