Noob question about Jailbreaking

Hi, I have just got myself a 3g iphone already officially carrier unlocked and am looking to jailbreak it for apps. My question is, can I still install apps from the app store in itunes and will I lose the current apps that I have purchased. Or can the "native" apps run on a jailbroken phone.

You can install and run apps from the app store without any problems. Your apps are in your iTunes library, so you won't loose any app.
