I was one of the tards who blindly downloaded 3.0b4 and installed it... epic fail. bricked the phone obviously.
in my attempts to restore to a previous version a custom ipsw of 2.0.2 has been my saviour. Not running a mac, i am only able to quickpwn my 2.2.1FW, so i cannot load a custom version, as such once that is loaded it will not activate the carrier and displays (null)(null). The kicker is that yellowsn0w will also not work as the baseband has been upgraded to (04.26.04) and it has yet to be developed for this baseband version. I have tried to roll back to 2.2.1 but it fails mid istall with a 1013/1015 error via itunes. can anyone explain why the custom 2.0.2 works via itunes however the legit 2.2.1 and the quickpwned 2.2.1 will not activate. also can the pwnagetool used for mac create a custom ipsw? similar to the earlier winpwn versions, before quickpwn was established? I think it might work via itunes if i can upload a custom version.... this is only based on the fact 2.0.2 is the only actual custom version that i have. the rest are quickpned. sorry i have rambled. any help/thoughts would be appreciated though. housekeeping. 8gb iphone 3g 2.0.2(5c1) winpwned running winxp. itunes (any version... including 8.2, which is currently installed) have all ipsw versions |
