Hi guys, I used the Fix DFU 10.5.6 Automator script to be ablle to use QuickPwn on my Mac but I still get the "not recognized error 2011" I think the process failed and now my whole .kext library is fucked up Do you have ANY ideas to fix this or at least get DFU working with QuickPwn?

and run it.

You wont be able to get into DFU mode then, but will be back at regular 10.5.6.

To ru the Automator app again, make sure to have the folder containg the fix sit on the Desktop. It is written in bold in my how-to but ppl still run it from different places.
Will work then and after you got your iPhone in DFU you can re-run the updater ...

first, i can run Automate script to enable DFU mode in 10.5.6

then after finish the whole jailbrake thing i can use OS X 10.5.6 Combo Update to simply return to stage before i run automate ?


all my works are in my mac , i just need to make sure that the whole processes are safe

Make sure when running the Automator app that the folder containing the app is sitting ON THE DESKTOP. Users who screwed up had the folder sitting somewhere - like in Downloads.
I have done it several timeson several Macs, always worked. BUT: there is always a risk palying around with system sources...

Unfortunately, I am one of those stupid users who screwed up. The first time I had Automater on my desktop and worked great. The second time I was unlocking a friend's iphone and ran the automater from the downloads folder (cause I trashed it from my desktop and forgot). It didn't complete properly and then rebooted my macbook pro manually. Now my keyboard and mouse don't work at all (even in safe mode). So I think I am screwed. Is there a way around this without doing an archive & install? Just need to get my keyboard working somehow to run the Fix DFU 10.5.6 Automater script. Please help!! Thanks!!

If it is an older Macbook with Firewire and you do have a second Mac around there might be a way out. Connect the two and while booting the Macbook hold the "T". It will boot then in Target mode (like an external HD). You could use the other Mac then and DL the 10.5.6 Combo Update and apply it on the Macbook in Target mode. This would leave all your data intact.

If this aint work for you cause you got a new Macbook without Firewire or no second Mac around, try the solution in post # 71/72 in this thread. This works.

Thanks man! Got my keyboard and mouse back after installing the 10.5.6 combo. But my USB ports stopped working. It says that IOUSBCompositeDriver.kext was installed improperly and cannot be used. Should I reinstall 10.5.6 combo again? Appreciate all your help!

I would give it one more shot. Usually the combo update should update the drivers. When using the Combo Update again, disconnect all devices you may hooked up to the USB port. this time run the Combo update direct on your Macbook. this wont cause any problems, it is always a good healing for several "problems". Just make sure to have the combo update not the standard one. The combo is almost 700 mb as far as I can recall.

Just did it and then read your post. I suspected it didn't like something about the 1st install from the target. So I figure it didn't hurt to DL and reinstall from the Macbook Pro itself. So you were right on the money! Thanks for all your help! U da man! I am back in business! :-)
