Default Error Code (21) while restoring with custom .ipsw

iPhone 3G, 2.2. Pwnage 2.2, Silver iMac, iTune 8.02

I successfully created a custom ipsw with Pwnage 2.2. While restoring the iphone with the custom .ipsw I keep getting error code 21, and the iPhone is stucked at the Apple icon(recovery mode??). I can restore it back with the non-modified .ipsw. But I am not able to complete a Pwnage/jailbreak. Any idea what I am doing worng? I did put the iPhone in the DFU mode, and hold the option key to select the right .ipsw. I tried creating a another copy of .ipsw but I am still getting the same error code.

thanks in advance..

Default

restore to a stock ipsw, then use quickpwn, its slower but it faster than trying and trying and repeating

Exclamation error 21 and 1600 driving me nuts

I have unlocked several iphones and now am about ready to give up on quickpwn, pwnage etc. Can anyone explain simply how to pull off this almost impossible feat.

I have an iphone w/2.2 firmware and 2.28 baseband. Working off a mac 10.4.11 and/or 10.5.6 w/itunes 8.0.2.

I have an itunes restore firmware which installed from itunes and created a custom firmware with pwnage 2.5 (quickpwn said it will not work with my firmware) and itunes will not restore.

Error 21 sometimes
error 1600 othertimes

then iphone locks up (yes I tried everything to unstick it.... home, offf 10 secs etc etc...) and i need to restore again.

I see many posts but nothing seems to work except a good night sleep and a nokia........ any helping hands out there.
