Default iBook reformat

I have a laptop which I purchased from a teacher. It's from Maine's highschool distribution. It won't boot from cd or install programs without admin pass.
I want to reformat it to OSX clean, without so many restrictions. How can I work around this?

Just contact the sys admin of the school, show your mac to him and ask.
Maybe the teacher who sold it to you can accompany you?

Weird thing is, i've worked as an admin on several schools and never ever would we appreciate it if teachers sold our equipment..........

if it is mac then insert the "install CD" into the computer (If this laptop first turn it on and then insert a CD). Press the C button on keyboard and turn it on. Hold the C button until boot from the CD

sorry for my English

Sounds like you will need to either get ahold of the PPC open firmware password retreiveal tool, or boot ibook with T key held down (target disk mode) & connect it to other mac & install os x from there. Can't remember if the FW password prevents Target disk mode? ? ? You can also try rezap pram this sometimes clears the fw pw.
