Default USB Write-blocker - anyone?

Hi

I´m looking for a software USB write-blocker for mac that actually works. Anyone have any suggestions?

Alternatively, what to do if none such write-blocker exist.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

What exactly you need there? A tool to block USB, or just write to attached pheripials with disk state? Try pathcing the driver maybe. Afaik it's open sourced.

I believe what he wants is something to tell the OS not to write anything to the USB. This is especially important when you run the OS from the USB. Without a "write blocker," the number of writes to the USB will quickly reach the maximum limit, which renders the USB useless in no time.

There used to be USB drives with a little read/write switch which prevents the OS from writing to the USB. It is just too bad that I do not see those anymore.

P.S. I couldn't seem to get Leopard to boot off my Sandisk Titanium U3 cruzer. The install completes successfully but I do not think the Darwin bootloader is working. Blessing the USB does not do anything to help.
