Default 10.6.2 Firewire not working and USB only 12Mbit/s

Hi Thanks for the advice with the kexts for the first install. I updated to 10.6.2 replaced the graphics driver (a must for nvidia 7xxx) with the one from 10.6.1 and even the kext i manually installed (the ones you mentioned above) and i even replaced the NullCpu with the new one from netkas.org
So far everything is fine 10.6.2 and 64bit-mode
BUT not all: Firewire is not showing up in the System Profiler as working and USB is not anymore USB2.0 – only USB1.0
;-(

What can i DO?
Any Suggestions? or Kexts ;-)

Thanks for the advice
USB was my fault sorry… i accidentally installed IOAHCIBlockStorageInjector.kext
so i removed it and repaired permissions with Conti's pfix
– now USB2.0 is working with 480 Mbit/s

the Kext for firewire is not working – sorry ;-) (i've tried)
time will tell

Hello, and thank you for this guide.

I ran into a problem trying to install OSX with Empire EFI.

When the first OSX install screen appears (where you select language) I can't use either my mouse or my keybord. Both are USB. Do I have to change something in BIOS? BIOS is set to USB 2.0 i think.

Running Asus P5W DH Deluxe.

I tried that, but no reaction. When I plugged them into the original ports again, they didn't connect (no light on keyboard or mouse).

Got a tip on the empire efi blog, and that is to wait, wait a long time. Then they will work, eventually. Will try that, and swap ports once again later.

Need to burn a new Snow Leo DVD. I burned it at max speed, and have trouble reading it correctly. And: Does it affect performance/reliability that I use a IDE DVD?

I shouldn't think IDE should have any problems, but i think you might need some drivers or something if your using the Jmicron controller?

I'm using the ICH7R IDE controller, so I don't think theres a driver issue.

Anyhow, will try to burn the Leopard retail again and slowest speed possible, and then verify. Yeah, should have done that in the first part, but forgot...
