Default Booting Macbook in 64 Bit?

I thought it was possible?

I have an early 2009 Macbook (4 GB's of RAM)...

I am trying to boot Snow Leopard in 64 Bit, I have tried following this guide:

Macintosh Performance Guide: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard: Booting the 64-bit Kernel

Can somebody help me pleaseee...
