Default how do you burn sl on a mac?

i currently have snowleopard.10a380.userdvd.dmg and im wanting to burn to a dvd (4.7gb), but snowleopard.10a380.userdvddmg has a image size of 5.84gb.

how are some people out there burning this?

i have made a copy and going to try and drag and drop all the contents to a blank folder and delete things like languages and what not, but im not sure if this is the way. any help would be much appreciated.

Yea, you can mount the disk image, remove xcode and then burn to a single layer DVD...

The other possibility is that you could follow my old guide from when Leopard was in betas and restore your install DVD to a partition on your hard disk and then just expand your volume as soon as your install is complete...

Steps:
•*Open Disk Utility
•*Add a second 6GB partition to to end of your hard disk using the HFS+ Journaled filesystem.
•*Choose the Restore Menu, dragging your Installation Image to your Source box and your new partition to your Destination Box.
•*Press Restore.
•*Reboot holding Option, choose your second partition and Install

After you are done, you can delete the partition and expand your primary if you choose. This can be done via Disk Utility.

Although, since I wrote that a couple years ago, the landscape has changed a little bit. Now I tend to avoid the whole shrinking and expanding thing and instead just go with a Thumbdrive. Advantage is that it is significantly faster to install from a Thumbdrive than it is from a DVD, and it's reusable.
