Default Safari 4

Hey guys, anyone attempted installing the Safari 4 beta on seed 10A261c? It has checks built in for Leopard, only installs on 10.5.6 or newer... 10.6 doesn't qualify I know how to get around the checks, but will it work? Don't fancy breaking my system, it's running quite well now (though I miss iStat menus )

Cool, but it doesn't really answer my question about whether anyone knew how to get it running. I've tried manually setting my OS X version in /System/Library/CoreServices/SystemVersion.plist. That gets me past the version check, but not the dependency on the 02/2009 security update, any ideas?

Have you tried installing it with Pacifist?

Good idea, I was going to try that actually but hadn't gotten around to it yet as my Pacifist requires reinstallation.

Default Simply...

simply change at the bottom of the file 10.5.6 to 10.5.7 and the instalation will launch when you are done !!BEFORE RESTARTING!! change it back to 10.5.6
( or the oringal value )

file location:: /System/Library/CoreServices/SystemVersion.plist
