Good morning =)

I just upgraded from 1.1.4 to 2.1, Free'd my baby with WinPwn, and started installing apps from the itunes store. No problem.

I've also downloaded a bunch of .ipa's, and drag'd and drop'd to the app screen. After syncing it gives me a:

"Could not install apps; "iphonename" could not be verified
[something to that effect]

my roommate has a legit iphone unlocked with at&t and I'm using his itunes account and I'm the 2/5th phone he can verify.

I've searched around and found only one answer, that was to replace the mobileframework file, which I did. that caused me to have to restore..

is there something I am missing?

Are those cracked IPA's?

I'm not sure tbh.

In that case, delete all those apps, sync, then download the apps again, but this time directly from iTunes and sync again. That way will work flawless.

Well it's a lot of apps that are not avail. to the store, such as ibeer...

You can get iBeer at iTunes Store too: iBeer

As you can see on this thread, iTunes Store is the best option to get ipa's, by far. [Question] Where do we download ipas from?

Thank you so much for the timely responses..
But the fact still remains that my roommate does it and it works on his iphone... Same iTunes account on the same computer, same error. I'd like to find a fix, not a work around..
I even tried swapping sim cards, no bueno.

The app store works fine through iTunes and through the iPhone app.. It's so strange.

Best advice, stay away from troubles and keep your iPhone healthy using only apps from the iTunes Store.
