Hi,
I have an iphone 3G 8 gb which was purchased new and already jailbroken / unlocked. How can I tell through what it was jailbroken for future upgrades using Dev Team's tools? Is there a way of knowing if it was jailbroken using redsnOw or pwnage tool? I have Cydia and I can tell its unlocked thru ultrasnOw as I can see the ultrasnOw application in Cydia. Any suggestions for checking this would be very much appreciated. Thanks. |

It does not really matter which tool you jailbroke the iPhone with.
All the jailbreak techniques for the 3G rely on the same hole. There's no way for Apple to fix this hole on existing 3G iPhones. It doesn't matter what program was used to jailbreak before. Which jailbreak tool you will use in the future will be more related to unlock. To keep ultrasn0w working you need to keep restoring using custom ipsw made with PwnageTool. Staying on the pwnage train will keep your jailbreak and unlock safe. |

It's been a while since I jailbroke with redsn0w but i do think it leaves some sort of log file on the Media partition this is located at /var/mobile/Media
Pwnagetool definitely won't leave any logs because everything is pre-patched in the custom ipsw and iTunes does the restoration. |
