I have a 3gs 16 meg that was jail broken with blackrain running 3.1.2. It started acting up two days ago and would not sync don't remember the error code on that but one said some about not be able to write to the disk. I decided to do a restore to factory 3.1.2. I keep getting error code 13 and it will not complete the restore.

I have tried this on my MAC and my windows desktop same error code. I have tried regular restore and in dfu mode. I think I will need to take it back to Apple. Will Apple be able to tell this was jail broken. When I am able to see the phone in itunes it shows the name as Iphone, capacity, software and serial show as NA.

put the phone DFU mode and restore.
If you cannot do that, something is seriously wrong with the phone.
Depends on the state of your phone, they may or may not know if it was jailbroken

has the restore been completed all the way? or does it stops and gives you en error message and leaves u on dfu mode?
