Hey guys

Have an iphone 3g 16gb was jailbroken and running 2.2.1 5H11, it froze up and was restored using itunes, however after it restored it would just sit at the apple icon,after trying other firmwares i got the 1013 and found out i needed to be restoring using the firmware it had on it when it crashed, which was 2.2.1 5H11, i tried quickpwn and managed to jailbreak it but it still just sits on the apple icon for hours and hours and zillions of restarts and restores and jailbreaks, if i plug it into ituned and leave it for a while i get the "iphone cannot be activated because of the sim card blah blah error" anyone have any ideas so i can get this baby back up and running as i need it despretly and im running out of ideas, ive read so many forums and posts but so far no one can offer me anything, thanks in advance.

Are you on a legit iPhone contract?

no its not no a contract i was just using a prepaid sim in it, it was working fine before it crashed, i bought it off ebay.

well try doing a restore via dfu mode(search to find out how)
if that dosent work make an appointment with genius bar and before u go there find a friend or someone that has an iphone with att and ask them if you could borow their sim. genius bar dont ask you about you accound they just whant a sim card to activete the phone thats all. oh and by the way if your prepiad accound activates the phone that might work to.

Restore your iphone in dfu mode. Search on google / here / iclarified and you should be able to find full details.

If it doesnt sort it still, then you will need to take it to Apple store. If your country supports it sim free / you can buy iphone in your country on your prepaid sim then you can take your phone to Apple and they will sort it out for you then and there. If not, then you can try and borrow a friends sim card.

If you cannot borrow a friends sim then still take it to apple and they can try with there sim card. Just tell them you forgot the sim in the other phone as this was playing up. Normally Apple is quite good and easy as it knows people cant carry faulty phones around and have there sim cards in them......
