You can activate it right now if you'd like to. I'm using a Canadian FIDO phone here in Sweden which I activated here using winpwn. I'm using a sim solution right now. Works perfectly, but of course I'd feel much safer and comfortable using a dev team developed software unlock.

So you are telling me that i can activate this Fido phone without calling Fido and singning a contract with them using Wingpwn and use my rogers sim card in it?

You can always activate it, but you won't be able to use it as a phone until an unlock comes, or by using a turbosim. But you can use it as ipod touch and use wifi on it.

If you use winpwn it will activate the phone for you. As will quickpwn.

Even if i can use it as ipod and use the wifi in it, i m happy.sooner or later dev team will come up with something. I just hate to leave it in my drawer. is there any tutorial of how to use the winpwn or quickpwn? Which version of winpwn should i download? and from where?

guys,i thought you might wanna know this...
here in Egypt,the iPhone was released on Friday 14-11-2009
ofcourse i couldn't miss that,so i went to know the specific details,and here's what we all might think is interesting...the iPhone 3G here is locked to Vodafone(not AT&T)!!!

I wonder whether there is any way to spoof iphone serial number? If that would be achieved we could mask the device under a serial number of a country, where itunes update unlocks your phone (New Zealand, etc.).
