Hi MuscleNerd, you are right and please - the whole Dev Team - accept my apologies ;-) I completely forgot about the times before 4.6 BL and 1.1.1 firmwares.... Sorry.

Not to nitpick Because the rest of your comment is accurate.
XpacK, no worries, you could have come to that conclusion yourself by reading back the last 6-12 months, so ... I can understand you didn't do so. And better 1000 ideas and 1 works than not a single one.

Cheers,

MuscleNerd: Just wondering when/if an unlock comes out, would it be possible for us who have been reckless and managed to update to the newest modem firmware to downgrade to a lower firmware version?

do you mean 4.6 Bootloader with baseband 04.02.13_G unlock (gunlock.c) and the software downgrade (gbootloader.c) to 3.9 or your 4.6 fakeblank? Was the Baseband patch not found by gray, who has not been member of dev-team?

Possibly, but it depends on what holes still exist (or have been newly created) in the version of the baseband you've got now.

Can anyone give me a suggestion plz? I have an iphone 3g which hasnt been activated yet at all. when the unlock software comes out from dev team, do i have to activate it first with FIDO (as it is a fido phone), or i can use software solution right away for first time activation and unlock it for any GSM network?

The Dev Team solution, when it comes out (hopefully soon) should be able to handle the whole thing. Jailbreak, activation, baseband unlock.
