Default Warning sound turns itself off on Macbook Pro

Hello all,

I am on a Macbook Pro first Generation - its been running fine for 3 years and still does but a few days ago I was missing the wooosh sound when sending an email or the clong when emails were checked - so I checked around the system settings and found the volume of the warnig sound set to zero - I didnīt do it, and have no idea what did! I have this happening three times now in the last three days but cannot point to any event before it does happen.

Does anyone know if this can be done by software or a script?
If itīs possible, does anyone know of a software or malware or whatever that would do that?
If yes what did I catch?
How do I get rid of it?

Any help is deeply appreciated!
Thanks!

Bexxer

Try monitoring the processes in Activity Monitor, see if there are any unusual processes, Google them; if they're not system processes, kill one of them, see if it stops, then repeat, etc.

Yes. It's tedious, but it works.
