Default 2009 Mac Pro

hey guys,

I just purchased a new Mac Pro quadcore 2.66 Xeon nehalem with 8GB of ram..but i kept the GT120 video card....and its crap. I dont wanna upgrade to the 4870 (512 for a 512 doesnt seem like a worthy enough upgrade).

I was wondering, is there any way to buy a retail video card, specifically the 4870x2 2GB or 1GB and install it on my Mac Pro?

Call the AppleStore, and have them explain the possibilities to you regarding the number of lanes you have available for one great card, and two half as great, etc.. There is something to consider regarding the video card and the number of bits they will use.

If your still under warranty, contact AppleCare at 1-800-APL-CARE and get documentation and possibilities so if you do decided on a third party option your not getting lemons for your Apple.
