Hello all, I am working on a 1.25 GHz PowerPC G4 w/ 1.25 GB Ram. It has an Epson 3170 Photo Scanner attached, other than that no foreign or non original hardware.
I haven't been able to be present when a Kernel Panic has actually happened, so all I have to go off of is the log, but I am pretty sure it has all the pertinent info, although it would be nice to have the first hand knowledge to relay to you. Here are the contents of the panic.log file: Code:

Ok, trying to keep this up to date with what I have tried.
I have Verified and Repaired Permissions using Disk Utility -Everything OK Booted into Single User Mode and ran: fsck -f -Everything OK Booted using Command + Option + P + R Booted using Command + Option + O + F -ran following commands: reset-nvram then press return set-defaults then press return reset-all then press return Each said OK and then system restarted. I am also questioning now whether the panic.log file that I posted earlier is even relevant to the issue that is occuring. My friend said that when it panics it immediately shuts off, no screen at all, and that it had done it 12 times last Thursday (07-30-09). The panic.log that I posted has a date of 07-10-09, so I don't believe it is describing this problem. It makes me think that it is definitely hardware the way that it is crashing, something critical such as video card, memory, processor. My friend has booted from the OS X disc and ran the full hardware tests and it passed. The problem is intermittent and random in nature, therefore is very frustrating. PLEASE HELP!! |
